Tales of Arise features numerous side quests that enhance character interactions and offer useful in-game currency. One memorable assignment in Calaglia is the Shionne the Fashion Critic quest, which brings a lighter moment to the early game. Players who initiate this quest will find themselves giving styling advice to an ambitious NPC in Ulzebek.

How to Unlock and Start the Quest

This side quest becomes available after defeating Lord Balseph during the early campaign. To begin, fast travel to Ulzebek in the Calaglia region and look for an NPC called the Handsome Nobleman. He is wearing ragged clothes near the town square and wants advice on how to improve his personal style.

When you speak with him, Shionne will offer her input on potential outfit choices. You will be presented with three dialogue options regarding what style he should adopt next. Any response you choose is accepted as valid, so you do not need to worry about picking a wrong answer.

Completing the Long Questline

After giving your suggestion, the Handsome Nobleman leaves to find his new outfit. Interestingly, this process takes a significant portion of the game to resolve. Players cannot complete the quest immediately and must progress through main story events across Dahna.

You must wait until much later in the game before returning to check on his progress. Once you reach the end-game stages or complete the main story, return to Ulzebek. Speaking with him once more will trigger the final conversation and wrap up the side mission.

Quest Rewards and Completion Value

Completing this sub-quest rewards players with 1,600 Gald and 135 Skill Points (SP). The Gald helps fund equipment upgrades, while the SP allows party members to unlock valuable skills. It is a simple task that yields worthwhile bonuses for very little physical effort.

Why You Should Complete This Sub-Quest

While the waiting time between starting and finishing is unusually long, the quest requires minimal combat. It adds humorous narrative flavor to Shionne's character while rewarding your patience near the end of your adventure. Completing it also brings you closer to earning achievements tied to finishing all sub-quests in the game.
